Introduction

Welcome to TaskJunky. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your data. This privacy policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have.

Information We Collect

Account Data

  • Authentication: We use Apple Sign-In and Google Sign-In. We receive your name, email address, and profile image from these providers. We do not receive or store your passwords.
  • User Profile: Your name, email, and profile image are stored in our database to identify your account.

Task Data

  • Projects, Lists, and Tasks: All task management data you create (titles, descriptions, plans, notes, due dates) is stored on our servers.
  • Activity Logs: Actions performed by you or your AI agent are logged (task created, completed, etc.) to provide the activity feed.
  • Rules: Custom instructions you create for AI agents are stored on our servers.
  • AI Notes: Notes that AI agents write on tasks are stored alongside the task data.

API Keys

  • MCP API Keys: API keys you generate are stored in our database. Keys are used to authenticate MCP connections from AI tools. We track the last time each key was used.

Subscription Data

  • Payment Information: Subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store (iOS) and Stripe (web). We do not directly collect or store your payment card information.
  • Subscription Status: We store your subscription tier and expiration date to determine feature access.

Device & Analytics

  • Push Notification Tokens: If you enable notifications on iOS, we store your APNs device token to send due date reminders.
  • Analytics: We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage analytics to improve the product. No personally identifiable information is included.

How We Use Your Information

  • Provide and operate the TaskJunky service across web and iOS
  • Authenticate your identity and secure your account
  • Store and sync your tasks, projects, and lists across devices
  • Authenticate MCP connections from AI tools using your API keys
  • Send push notifications for due date reminders (if enabled)
  • Process subscription payments and manage feature access
  • Improve the product through anonymous analytics

Data Storage & Security

  • All data is stored on Neon Postgres with encryption at rest.
  • All connections use HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit.
  • Authentication is handled by Better Auth with secure session management.
  • API keys are stored in the database and can be revoked at any time.
  • We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data.

Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal data to third parties. The only exceptions are:

  • Authentication providers (Apple, Google) to verify your identity.
  • Stripe for processing web subscription payments.
  • Apple for processing iOS subscription payments.
  • PostHog for anonymous product analytics.
  • If required by law or to protect our rights.

AI Agent Access

When you connect an AI agent (Claude, Codex, Copilot, Gemini, etc.) via MCP, the agent can read and write your task data through the API using your API key. The AI agent operates with the same permissions as your account. We do not control what the AI agent does with data it reads from TaskJunky — that is governed by the AI provider's own privacy policy and terms.

Your Rights

  • Access all your data through the web app or API at any time.
  • Delete your account and all associated data from Settings.
  • Revoke API keys at any time from Settings.
  • Manage or cancel your subscription through the App Store or web app.
  • Disable push notifications through iOS Settings.
  • Request a copy of your data by contacting us.

Children's Privacy

TaskJunky is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of TaskJunky after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
